>>105409075I mean you're entitled to your opinion, but I'mma have to respectfully disagree.
I feel juggling comedy, horror, drama, action and satire is actually as commendable if not more than just pulling off one or two.
Of course we'll have to see if the juggling act pays off beyond throwing the whole fridge into the blender to declare whether it's worthwhile, but so far it's a least entertaining in all its multifaceted ways.
It's also visually pretty neat.
Like how Popeye's pipe is used to transition into thought bubbles of their origins and then back, it's a small thing and nothing genius but the point is most artists would just hard cut into a flashback with a staple panel frame. That "dingo the dog" tried when it wasn't needed is, again, commendable.
There's a lot of things in here like that where despite being a simple, yet increasingly absurd concept the creator's shown apt understanding of good pacing, shading, perspective, detail, simplicity, etc.
Like with Deathbulge's eloquence and effectiveness at doing a running gag, I've got to once again acknowledge skill when I see it because I know, whether for a laugh or dead serious, if I tried to do something like this over the weekend I wouldn't get so far as page 2 in any measure before giving up or squeezing out something substantially less.
