For those of you who grew up with Marvel, DC, Comic Books, Anime, Lovecraft, SNES or even Harry Potter..

Why is it whenever a big budget film, or a marketing team behind an IP is created- suddenly every normie becomes an "expert" on the source material without understanding its foundation, or even reading or watching it?

Do they want to look "involved"? Do they want to just "fit in"? How do you feel about these sorts of people? What is YOUR series? Any stories with these kinds of people?

I know there will be a lot of larpers in this thread, and i'll probably get "your IP is not a secret club!" but that comes with the territory of /co/ i guess.

I think we can all agree right now that people who grew up reading DC and Marvel books have it the worst with these sorts of people.
