Just taking Loss by itself in a vacuum doesn't do full justice to just how fucking terrible it was.
It was a dumb Penny Arcade ripoff with lazy art written by a narcissist with a fundamental misunderstanding of human emotion that decided to try and inject a miscarriage plot out of fucking nowhere.
The strip was accompanied by a blogpost that was ostensibly about how emotionally draining a miscarriage is, but veers into how big a relief it was that it ended the relationship by the second paragraph.
Then! It is NEVER followed up on. That pained look of the girl character in the bed? That is the ONLY emotional reaction we ever see to her having passed a dead fetus from her body. Her VERY NEXT appearance in the strip is planning a vacation for the main character to have a wacky adventure with.
The strip is memeable, but it only got that way because every single aspect of its creation was such a fucking misfire.
