The whole theme of AGU was that the kids realize that the real world isn't like they imagined in Rugrats. This includes accepting that there isn't always a happy ending and sometimes the bad guys win.
Sometimes you get raped and nothing you can do about it other than repress. Other times the crazy muslim who cut off your foreskin gets away with it.
