>>104528757It got a lot of people to clean up their acts SLIGHTLY. Which isn't changing the world, but people are more used to calling out game journos for doing fucked up shit (like a recent one plagiarising and entire review). And as long as a reviewer at least has to say "The game was made by my roommate" or some other disclosure, they're less likely to even write reviews/coverage for their friends. Gaming and games journalism will always be sorta corrupt though, since it's a consumer market and game companies will bribe every fucker they can with free shit if it might get some positive numbers. It did roughly as much as was possible.
Casualgate honestly is just a scam so youtubers with no talent can make money off of idiots. They're not focused on "comic journalists" because those don't really matter. They start shit with comic creators, who are their direct competitors, meaning there is no "ethical journalism" or criticism involved. It's one set of creators trying to get under the comicsgate label (which only exists because gamergate lasted 2 years and has name recognition) attacking other creators and saying "we'll save comics!" Then they put out shit like this. When you have everyone from Larry Hama to Frank Cho calling you're movement a bunch of scam artists assholes, you're probably a bunch of scam artist assholes.
