It's like the crew was told about cancellation halfway through animating the final episode, and so they panicked and quickly changed up the last 8 minutes or so to give it marginally more "closure".
Like, I find it absurd that they would give subtle hints to Jaha/Megaria's backstory IN THE FINAL FUCKING TWO-PARTER, just for the series to end immediately after.
They had the main villains escape. Choten steals away Ray's dad, so that they cannot heal him, and then 3 minutes later the heroes heal him anyway. Everything about the finale was so pointless and self-contradictory.
They had to have thought they are going to have a chance to expand on that.
