Because it attracts the last kind of people you want for an audience; Tumblr and DeviantArt. Though you can avoid that by actually knowing/caring about animation as a whole and not cover shows everyone from the community has done (SU, TTG, etc.) or doesn't have huge followings on the aforementioned sites. Besides Pan, I don't know many popular channels that aren't as cringy.

It's only really bad if you get so distraught you do shit like get tattoos of the character and/or kill yourself over their death. But having attachment to a character isn't exactly unheard of, all media, especially books, are meant to make you connect to the characters.

the first is to completely drop the podcast. it's not even good, and it really only serves for another cartoon reviewer to talk to him or for the two fat tumblrites to get a platform

the 2nd would be to actually learn more about animation and incorporate that into his reviews. the dude's animations really suck and look like those shitty abridged series where they use mouthflaps all the goddamned time. I'm not asking for a fully animated review, but some animation knowledge and talking about it outside just the art style would be much appreciated

they had different channels for art and discussion of art, if you commented on any art in the art channel it was immediately deleted because that wasn't in the discussion of art channel
also they would not let ANYTHING that wan't complacently animated on there because because it was a "cartoon discussion discord" even if the piece of media was the discussion of cartoons
all and all it was terrible and I am happy I am no longer a member
