>>100119189To me it feels more like the fandom (and Star) overreacted to the "not real royalty" aspect, as though "real royalty" has a biological component or something and isn't just whoever manages to hold power, the way the Butterflys related to her had for the last 300+ years. Even the magic originally stems from connection to/use of the wand, so there's no such thing as a "real Butterfly" either since Festivia became one the same way the very first queen would have.
Star still has the throne, because Eclipsa doesn't seem to want it, centuries ago or now, and Meteora's a retard baby so who cares (though unfortunately I can see her somehow winding up the next heir). The show seems to be going for that in actuality it doesn't matter, despite Star's initial impulse to hand it away, and that it's now up to her to make the best of a bad situation rather than surrender it to someone who gave it up in the first place.
