I don't think people were trying to give her falsities, but make her feel more comfortable posting and being herself. And most people tend to like being complimented, even if it's untrue or exaggerated. Although, I suppose no one would blame her if she didn't feel comfortable with that kind of attention.
Still I think more harm is done when people take something somewhat innocent as people trying to cheer a girl who seemed somewhat insecure with herself, misguided or not those post were, and then turn around and make a meme out of it because they needed the world to know what she probably knows and tell themselves daily.
