The $500 only seems expensive to folks who have never used a satellite before. $500 for satellite dish is the standard. $100/m only seems expensive if you're used to cheap cable in certain cities.
Fanboys aren't funding Starlink. Its the opposite. Starlink is giving lot of value for current market price. Do you understand the actual value of a >50 Mbps/<50ms/>50GB per month bandwidth anywhere in the US if Starlink didn't exist? Its infinite. There are no other technology that gives this minimum conservative estimate to rural community in the US. The most "comparable" ones are from traditional satellites like HughesNet. $500 dish, $100/m, 25Mbps, 1000+ ms latency, 20GB per month bandwidth limit. You can't stream youtube. You can't stream netflix. You can't play games. You can't do any video calls.
Value proposition of Starlink's offering @ $100 is extremely good.
