And yes, one work by the author becoming popular pretty much guarantees more exposure for their other works. For instance, call me a pleb and a filthy secondary as much as you want, but I know I would probably never pick up 'Dying of the Light' if I hadn't watched GoT and read ASoIaF before. And I doubt 'Wild Cards' and other 'obscure' works by Martin would get so many new expensive hardback editions in my country if they weren't 'by the author of ASoIaF'.
