Jk lol physiology is the study of functions and processes etc. From the whole organism to organs, tissues, down to cells and chemistry. Biology is more general. Physiology fits into biology but there's other branches of biology. Other branches of physiology too. Biology can be cells other than eukaryotes for example. Human physio is just human shit. Hope that makes sense 'cause I'm a little drunk lol.

Suppose someone wears an elastic strap just above their knee, which wraps around, creating enough tension to leave a mark similar to what elastic socks and underwear bands might leave. I think Adapalene can be a very good choice for some people since it's OTC, available in most countries unlike Tretinoin , very cheap compared to unregulated non pharmaceutical retinol creams or to getting a prescription for Tretinoin from a dermatologist ,have less side effects for people with sensitive skins and more safe

Some elastic strap around your leg won't restrict the bloodflow in your deep femoral vein, at best you'll see some enlargment of your superficial veins, but even that shouldn't be an issue, unless you plan on wearing it most of the day. Outside of post-op or clotting issues, DVT is usually caused by immobilization leading to decreased bloodflow in the veins of the lower limbs which in turn increases the risk of clotting (just googel virchow's triad), so it comes down what you intend to do while wearing this elastic strap of yours.

Using specific language is fine, but you still have to explain your symptoms in detail anyways, can't be sure that the definition you looked up matches with the understanding of your GP. As with chemicals, depends, if it's something generic it probably doesn't matter, just name the chemical and then mention the brand you use, if it's some research chemical shit, you should definetly elaborate.

Malformation in gender identity is similar to a malformation in sexual organs (see evidence for biological origins of transgenderism) and thus it is a deviation from what is physiological and therefore it is PATHOLOGICAL. What makes something pathological is NOT whether the patient can put up with it. Someone can live blind without much mental distress but that doesn't mean that there is no disease or dysfunction, there is an objective difference between someone who is blind and someone who isn't. The alternative to saying transgenderism is a disease is to say that it is a pure preference (aka fetish) which may be true for a significant proportion of trannies, but we don't cut dicks off as a medical intervention for the sake of fetishes.

For the "true" trannies, there is no doubt that it is a disease. If we cannot tackle it by reversing the disease process (perhaps by masculinising the XY brains of men who want to be women, e.g. giving them testosterone), we have to settle with treating them symptomatically, i.e. giving them heavy psychotrophic agents and if we lived in a slightly less semitic world that would be the mainstay of treatment - not giving them estrogen and cutting their dicks off.

Listen, I'm not on the tranny-train either, but deviation from physiological only becomes pathologic if it causes distress and or impaired function, you wouldn't call a supernumary kidney pathologic. There are a lot deviation from general physiology that we don't medicalise. I would't count gender dysphoria among them, but that's beside the point

I'll post an excerpt that I used to argue a point about homosexuality (which in my opinion lies on a spectrum with transsexuality) that I've posted about here before but the same excerpt contains a similar idea for transsexuality. Other evidence is for example, the fact that gender dysphoria is higher among girls with congenital adrenal hyperplasia even if they were raised as girls. There is also other stuff about differences in brain structure between transsexuals and normal people but I'm less familiar with that research.
The whole idea that "brains don't correspond with their gender identity" although spouted by retarded trannies assumes some sort of strange Cartesian dualism where in their "soul" they are "female" but their brain is "male". Not saying there is no such thing as an immaterial mind but it's not something that is within the purview of medicine and definitely not in the purview of degenerate trannies.

This is tautological, if we define health as a lack of function then any deficiency of a function (e.g. the function of gender identity) leads to a toll on one's health. Yes I know gender is tied to sex, gender is normally an expression of biological sex and if a biological male performs female functions then that person has a discordance between their sex and gender. Their brain expresses more female attributes than male. I'm not saying that this means their brain is literally male. You also say that a deficiency in exposure to androgens in utero as an explanation for this gender/sex discordance, but that literally gives a pathologic mechanism for the illness.

You mentioned that trans was not in the book but that is literally false, it mentions sexual identity and "transsexuals" (since its a book from the mid 2000s) numerous times in the book and about the potential endocrine explanation for its manifestation.

On the model I (and many others) am proposing, gender dysphoria is for a significant subset, a disease that is similar to disorders of sexual development (DSD), in which the brain fails to masculinise (or undergoes too much masculinisation in females). Evidence for this fact include the female CAH patients I referred to earlier (you said this doesn't mean GD is inherently pathological, but that literally misses the entire point lmfao).

Apparently you can wear one of those fabric knee brace things underneath the elastic strap, to spread out the pressure it's causing? So I might try that and see if the pressure is dispersed. I simply sit for most of my day for work so the strap is the ideal option for keeping tension.

I've experienced this myself. I used to get sick in the winter with flu-like symptoms once a year or once every two years. Then I started biking to my classes every day. It was a good bit if exercise which I did in every conceivable weather. In scorching heat, pouring rain and freezing snow. I haven't been sick a single time since then. IF the studies were designed properly and showed a reduction in deaths, there are other plausible explanations. Soap not only kills certain strains of bacteria but it also removes certain toxins at least to an extent.

Don't get me wrong, though, there are some hygienic measures that do work like removing heavy metals and other toxins from drinking water and these exact measures were put in place during the middle of the 19th century, when death rates from some diseases started plummeting (see the attached image taken from the book 'Virus Mania' as an example).

The location seems to change but generally they have a diameter of 1mm and looking at them through a magnifying glass there seems to be a tiny dot in the middle of each one that's matte and not shiny like the surrounding tissue and the outer parts of the red marks

If you are particularly concerned you can wear an N95 or similar high filtration mask. If it was me, I'd just pop a cetirizine (Zyrtec) and that should help with allergies from exposure. Breathing through your nose should help with avoiding irritation as well. Hope this helps friend. Wear some gloves and mask if the book is suspect and looks moldy or very dusty if you are concerned about it. You shouldn't have any issues beyond that

As for the straps, you can probabaly wear them a while without any risks, maybe loosen them every couple hours and take a short walk (which you should be doing anways if your work is mostly sedentary), a knee brace or similiar could also work.

Yeah mostly mold and dust, you could wear a mask, but it's not like most of these books will be moldy if they were stored in remotely adequate enviroments. I'd say keep a mask and gloves around if a book really comes off as sketchy, but wearing masks and gloves for all of them might just be overkill. Dust is another thing, but it very much depends on how well the room you're working in is ventilated.

For as long as there has been circumcision, there have been men wearing straps and weights to undo it. Believe it or not, this was happening as far back as Ancient Rome and before. Circumcision started off with, arguably, a ceremonial pinprick of blood, then turned into what we would call a partial circumcision. I have an interest in healthcare and medicine due to the complex health status of my immediate family members. I don't really care about all that. It's interesting to read this take though. The system is absolutely retard. I was shocked when I entered the field. My friend is in med school she's doing well. We discuss how broken the system is and general aggravating issues. I just like people and taking care of them. I'll definitely become an NP still. I didn't know physicians lose some of their potential experience from the presence of mid-levels. Just seems like a good job and I'd like to become a professor one day instead of retiring just in case my wife dies before me so I won't be too lonely. I worked as an auto-mechanic before nursing and just wanted a career change. It pays really well. I make about $5k a week traveling in my state, I'm in Oklahoma. I get to spend time with the wife and the 3 on 4 off let's me raise my family and take care of my woman. It's a fulfilling job that pays the bills. I got a question though, how did the system become so fucked if physicians are the linchpin and hold a lot of power? Crazy how the system works I don't see it becoming unfucked ever. We took the Florence Nightingale Oath when I graduated it's kinda similar I guess it didn't mean much to me though. I enjoy making sure my patients are safe and taken care of in this predatory shit hole field. I like helping families and hearing life stories. Supporting people through their lows in life is very humbling and fulfilling. Better than working on cars for sure

Whether it's LPN, RN or NP, we are an assistive role. It should stay like that. Some states allow NPs to practice independently which is honestly fine if it works. I don't mind I'm not gonna step on their coat-tails. Capitalism is a game and if they're allowed to do something go ahead I guess. I really don't see much wrong with it if they have the experience and training and do a good job, let em have a go. NPs will never have the same experience and foundation as a classically trained physician but that's not needed all the time. Timmy breaks his arm rollerblading for example and needs a little cast for a couple weeks. Or when Grandpa Glenn comes in for his annual checkup. An NP works fine then honestly.

It's an insult to those specialties as well, I'm not a psychiatrist but the idea that it's merely about medication management and thus NPs who have sufficient experience in the field should be able to make management decisions is abhorrent and a likely psy-op from Big Health who eventually want to do their best to replace all physicians. NPs in ED are a money making machine since they over-diagnose, over-investigate and (both) over/under-treat. A trifecta in the interests of faceless admin I'm sure.

Right so that's the point, you have no interest in protecting that tradition, you don't have any investment into it. I have devoted years of my life, so many hours of my week training devoting myself to the profession (and I come from family that has). I could have sold out and worked in finance or some shit given my undergrad in math but I chose to continue the path in medicine. That is part of what you have to understand that if you want to know why "you guys hate NPs".

I understand that you're pursuing it for the sake of providing for your family, I'm not saying you're a bad person for wanting to be an NP. I'm just saying the whole role of NP/PA should not exist in ANY capacity.

Why isn't a physician examining Glenn? What happened to primary care maintaining a longitudinal doctor-patient relationship? How is a physician supposed to make a good decision for Glenn if he hasn't even laid eyes on him for years and just relies on the NP's notes?

PA here. I work in a private canuck clinic that doesn't allow med students and residents here for some reason, so the MDs appreciate me taking in urgent visits for basics like sutures, UTIs, shit like that. I see how the family physicians have trouble juggling their daily case loads, lab results, meetings, and rounding at other facilities. Worse is the health authority now wants all family MDs to take on another 250+ patients, so they're swamped. The MDs here still need to maintain hours of CME to see to that they still gain training, so I guess I don't see the problem with me being around. If this is all about not allowing residents to gain training experience, at least when I was still a student, they made sure the PA and residents got their equal share of cases.

I went to my doctor complaining about discomfort in my abdomen and he asked me to take my shirt off and then he felt around in my abdomen where I said the pain was, got me to spin my torso about and asked me if it hurt

How do med/PA schools view the clinical hours requirements?
I am finishing junior year of a chem degree with a 4.0 and research experience. I want to keep my options open and get some medical experience but I don't want to wipe asses or do any of the depraved shit nurses have to do.

That is for the acute setting and deciding on whether to treat their PE in an inpatient setting or not and all the criteria concern PMHx and whether she is stable so it does not apply to your current situation. You can answer your own question by just asking why she needs to be in hospital if she is hemodynamically stable and has already been started on anticoagulation - assuming she is now on a DOAC it's efficacy doesn't need to be tracked so that isn't a reason. One reason may be that you think it's in her best interests to be worked up for underlying cause of the PE in an inpatient setting. Ultimately you just have to use your brain and decide based on the patient circumstances.

not T1DM, T2DM maybe but the likelihood of you having T2DM is EXTREMELY low and the likelihood that you have psychosomatic symptoms or some other cause for your symptoms are much higher

Hardly, it's a very fluid condition, the metabolic dysfunction is there, but it's not fully manifest and does not necessarily progress to typ II diabetes, I think it describes the condition quite well, as in "you're not yet fucked, but probably will be soon"

True, reversal really hasn't found it's way into the guidlines yet, but to be honest typ II is kind of a messy situaton clinically, my countries treatment guidelines are 90% just "How to get the fat fuck to stick to the treatment and stop boozing, smoking and binge eating" which is certainly the best treatment strategy, but it shows how difficult it is to get typ II patients to comply with the treatment and actually work towards controlling their condition. Anything that is wrapped up in the shitheap that is the treatment of obesity is really just a gigantic drag in the context of our current medical system.

Depends on who you ask either:
A: amount of discomfort they feel with their body in relation to their "gender" (i.e. is a gaping hole of a chronic wound sufficient to make one feel more female and thus less dysphoric)
or

Another concern is how soon after the operation is regret measured? I'm sure with the euphoria of satisfying their mental illness, with everyone around them supporting them and egging them on and the high of the post-surgery opiates regret is difficult to measure compared to 5 years later when they are alone, with a gaping hole of a chronic wound, likely chronic pain, inability to ejaculate or undergo true orgasm, no one to hold their hand, with people still able to tell that they are male.

Friendly reminder that if you require a procedure/surgery that requires anesthesia of any level, don't do it at the same hospital that you work at. If you really need to, don't tell any of the staff you work there.

Had a small procedure with prop/fent and pretty sure I seriously embarrassed myself when I woke up. I heard the nurses talking about someone's results in recovery and apparently I kept trying to butt in with questions about it and other stuff. No idea if they heard me or if I was talking to myself. I then kept falling asleep when they tried to wake me up, and for the rest of the night I kept having delusions of sobriety.

I also remember I gave them the thumbs up and a really big smile when they first put me under because of what I assume was the fentanyl euphoria. Asked them how long I was out once I sobered up and the nurse got really cunty and said I was out for ages lmao.

It used to just be a high pitched sound in one ear, but now it almost feels like some signal going through my head and entering one ear and leaving the other and I always cover my ears when it happens for a second or two
Also when I'm laying down (especially when I wake up) I know that my hearing is different, but I can't remember it enough to describe now.

I can't tell you from experience, because I haven't used it, but probably... insomnia medicine/benzo
I started smoking CBD recently and it makes it easier to fall asleep, but it doesn't put me to sleep immediately. But without it I can lie for hours, whereas with CBD I usually fall asleep within an hour
But there are stronger drugs, maybe you could experiment with them

I have sunglasses that I can put on my normal glasses (I have eye defect), for example when driving

My doctor thought it could be mortons neuroma or metatarsalgia and suggested I get an ultrasound done on my foot
Do you think the ultrasound is necessary? I told my doctor that it felt like there was a lump under where the burning was but only when I have pressure on my foot, feeling it with my fingers I can't feel anything there
