Does anyone NOT get a 6-figure job fresh out of college with a STEM degree? I just got my first position starting at 150k and thought I was hot shit but all my friends starting out are also making 100k+.

I remember immediately after the recession, you had engineers with 15+ years of experience and professional license getting laid off and applying to entry level positions. It was bad. I came onto the scene a few years later and and I still remember my boss hiring people, 100+ applicants willing to work for less money than to do doing all sorts of fancy shmancy finite element simulations.

Different places have different standards of living. For instance in most large cities a 6 figure income isn't that impressive. Like in NYC you could make 150k per year and still be essentially poor. Other places you can make 80k and live extremely comfortably, it all depends.

It's no joke. I started 5 years ago and my boss was paying this other dude with 10 years of experience $60K and another dude with 8 years $90K. I have a friend working for Boeing right now making $90K with 6 years of experience. It's really funny to think about this whole buzz with "The Big Quit" or whatever they call it. Businesses still hold all the cards, except for the small businesses who you know are going to bitch and moan to the government that they can't afford to pay their engineers 6 figures.

I have an EE degree since June 2020.
I have 2 internships under my belt, 3.9 GPA, multiple projects that got sponsored by big name companies, research, and got 1st place in multiple hackathons.

No job. Entry level for EE is extremely, EXTREMELY over-saturated.

You've seen that but I've seen that it could be otherwise. No middle management or HR to filter their overinflated egos from you or what their employees are worth or how they should know their place. Dude literally thought entry level was 3-5 years of experience. Then you get some of the other ones who has a mill in his garage and a cracked copy of solidworks who wants to hire a kid for $20 dollars or if not the kid then outsourcing their CAD work to some indian or chinese sweatshop. And then you have to fight them to get travel expenses reimburse if you're driving out somewhere for work. Free parking is a "perk" or a "benefit", no tuition reimburstment, no retirement/401k, and you get your standard 2 weeks of PTO including sick time for American white collar workers. There's more shit but I'm getting mad remembering it. Not completely related but I remember hearing this story of a college professor who had his own business and used cheap grad student labor to get his shit done.

Had an internship and a co-op, 3.9 GPA as well.

Interviews go well, I only get passed on because "overqualified" or "not a diversity hire"

Been unemployed since graduating.

Still trying, can't even get a job with Geeksquad at Bestbuy since they want cert cucks with no degree for some reason.
