Wouldn't having high albedo remove the ability for phytosynthesis? Maybe grains, fruits, tree bark and decayed plant matter can be made lighter. But chlorophyll and analogous compounds have a certain colour and you can't do squat about it.
Other than that, cows could be made to fart less methane. But that does not stay long in the atmosphere anyway.

What I'm basically getting at is this but with other plants especially in crop lands. It should be possible to genetically modify plants to be more reflective and still grow if they can't just be white on top like this. This in principle would slash warming and give more time to cut emissions.

Not all magic juice comes out of the ground. For about 100 years, we've known how to make fuel (methane) from atmospheric CO2. I mean hell, that was officially NASA's plan to get to Mars where the atmosphere is almost entirely CO2 (such as there is one) and that is how SpaceX will refuel their BFR. It's not energy positive, but you can use a different form of power generation so it doesn't matter.

There's no way to modify plants in order for them to offset enough carbon emissions. A large hard wood tree might can remove 40 tons of CO2 out of the atmosphere over its entire life, but even if you could double or triple that and still have a viable organism its still not enough for effective carbon capture. When plants die they release all of the CO2 back into the environment (this part of the reason why Biofuels are a non-starter), so unless you sequester them in such a way that the carbon doesn't get back into the atmosphere it won't result in a net change of CO2. In order to have the scale of carbon capture needed to deal with global warming you need to be running something like the Sabatier process in order to turn CO2 back into hydrocarbons instead of biomass, but you would need a lot of power to do that so you would need a non-GHG power grid (nuclear) anyway. Which is what OP is arguing against to begin with.

plants are the color they are because that's the color they need to be, retard
you can notice very easily that plants in polar climates are darker, because they need to soak up more of the scarce light available.

all in all the doomer takes are cringe though. Climate change is going to benefit more people than it hurts, and the big refugee crises would be around europe anyway.

also it would be pretty easy to green/forest huge amounts of land with just a few $trillion/year. China could right now turn its Taklamakan into Germany for just a few trillion $

i'm sure you're aware that plants produce offspring, so it's not as if a tree ends its lifecycle and all the carbon that it captured returns to the atmosphere, it has produced offspring which continue to uptake carbon and so on.
