Just how in the hell does the microencapsulation process even work? What process could possibly allow for such a tiny "bubble", inside of which are free floating particles? I've tried reasoning out how such a process would work but have come up with nothing.

Googling doesnt seem to bear much fruit. The results are flooded with DIY processes of making your own scratch n sniff products. Not exactly the same type of microcapsules you'd find inside a product like e-ink. Can't find anything on it that can satisfy my curiosity.
