Most affirmative action hired employees/students are by definition like that.
This is even more clear in my turd world countries where we have specially reserved quotas for women, perceived lower castes (majority of population), disabled etc, they get all sorts of concessions on eligibility, qualifications, scores etc, so a lower caste women with low scores on qualifications will be favoured over an upper caste man with better scores and education, This has happened to me before.
