How can I get a 3.5+ GPA in college?

I'm a freshman and I need to get a 3.5 GPA so I can get into a good graduate program. This is a bit daunting. Please share any relevant advice/ experiences that helped you get good grades.
No study groups, face-to-face lecture hours, close friends, etc because everything is online due to covid. I don't want to fuck this up.

Even in online schooling op, there are no magic bullets. Actually take the time to study your material, assuming you have live lectures, don't be afraid to ask questions. If your teacher assigns only a few questions from a page or worksheet, try your best to do ALL of them. Unless you have schedules on your exams and shit, ask your teachers when your next assessments are and try to study a few days ahead.

If you know there are certain classes that you might have trouble with, see if you can take it Credit/No-credit or Pass/Fail (whatever they call it). Also, avail yourself of the DROP/AUDIT/HEARER option, to simply drop your class. There's a limit to how you long you can wait before you do this, so make sure you know what that limit is!

Do all your homework before the last possible moment and show up to every class. Sounds simple, but I went from being an A-B student to carrying a perfect GPA for the last few semesters doing just that. It's a good place to start from if nothing else.

>join a gym. literally. I did this in grad school, wished i took more gym classes in undergrad bc it reset my brain every time i went swimming and it stopped burnout

Take some time to read through lecture material ahead of the lecture, even if you don't fully understand it, going over it once will mean you can actually listen to what is being said during the lecture without playing catch up the entire time.

What does this thread even have to do with science? Schoolchildren should be on a different board. If you're still in school that means that you're not a mature adult, not a member of adult society or a contributing part of the economy, you're just an overaged school kid.

Kek. Who said /sci/ got good grades? Anyway it's not that simple because the grades and GPA you get are mostly RNG. Your best bet is to hope you get good professors that don't have unintelligible accents. But grad schools don't care that much about your GPA anyway just make sure you pass all the courses needed for your major and you'll be fine.

--With money saved take course as an audit at another low-cost college or free online course. Take class several times if needed until you understand cold and have done all the recommended reading so you understand beyond basic material.

--ONLY then take the class at your college for credit. Do all homework early, attend all classes, do extra exercises and all extra credit opportunities.

Not exactly something I myself would condone, but I honestly wouldn't blame people that much either if they chose to do so. The professors that cracked down the hardest always seemed to be the type to make their classes way more difficult than they had to be like they had a hardon for it or something.

OP if I were you I'd stick to the fundamentals and show up to class, sit in the front, take notes, ask questions, don't take more classes than you can handle, show up for office hours when available, become a regular there. And if you can't, well, you might have to consider your other options, more along the lines of what these anons are saying.
