It has been pretty well established at this point that the various vaccines are significantly less effective against delta than they were against wild type, but Israel's numbers are even crazier than that would really imply.
Lots of other countries with higher (and even lower) vaccination rates like France and Canada (and India) have also been getting hit by delta for a while now, and while they have seen spikes in big spikes in cases in each of these places, it's nowhere near the kind of shit that Israel is seeing. There doesn't seem to be a clear causality.
