It's only of limited utility in my experience. It is good in that I will spend a lot more time on the material without getting distracted, but it also can easily lead to me getting hyper focused on something entirely different, and it is a toss up whether I'll have a good and productive time with it or I'll spend the next 12hours feeling anxious, uncomfortable, and irritated to the point that I just want to be back to normal again.

Also it disrupts sleep which is of vital importance for retention. 5/10, can be helpful when used wisely, but it isn't magic. Won't make you any smarter.

As already mentioned, it is only beneficial if you legitimately have ADHD or whatever diagnosis requires it for a prescription. For anyone else, it basically just operates same as any other stimulants. Maybe you'll feel like you are doing way more than usual, but I suspect those with a keen sense of self awareness will quickly (or perhaps, more gradually) come to realize that they can accomplish the exact same tasks without using adderall.

The only time I would recomend it to someone who doesn't actually have ADHD or ADD is if they for some reason need to stay awake at all costs, or if they are completely stuck in a slump and find it impossible to pull themselves out.
I would tell them use it only the one time and try to have a productive experience. The sole purpose is for them to witness what they are actually capable of. After that I would suggest leaving it alone and working on discipline. I cant stress it enough, theres nothing adderall does for you that you cant already do for yourself.

The inevitability of death and its acceptance do not force me to die immediately. I stopped taking my girl pills last weekend. I understood how they are only enforcing my mental illness and making me live a lie. I still have to figure out how to dispose of them in a responsible manner, so they won't end up in children's mouths. There are things no "medication" can cure, and I have come to the conclusion that I just need to accept that and try to move on. I'm not interested in trying to have a debate on the matter, as I have been really flammable for the past few days and it would probably just lead to me getting angry. You may laugh at me, and that is OK, but I know what I'm talking about.

So, does Adderall cause long term brain damage to users who actually have ADHD/etc in addition to normal users? This thread is full of bullshit exaggerations... ADHD meds are like a more powerful and better coffee, they don't make you smarter, they just make you more awake and less distracted. IMO they're simply not worth the trouble if you don't actually have attention problems that interfere with your life.
If you insist on trying, you may be able to get some from an ADHD friend or buy amphetamine on the street, dissolve it in a bottle of water, calculate the mg/ml and do volumetric dosing to match a small or medium Adderall pill. Be aware of the honeymoon period and DO NOT chase it after it wears off.

Ultimately, it's your choice. If you do decide to get amphetamine, remember my warning about the honeymoon period. The first few days or even weeks will feel unusually good because the amphetamine will give you motivation and energy in addition to focus. These effects will then fade and only focus will remain. You'll be tempted to significantly raise the dosage to recreate the first week. DO NOT, THIS IS A TRAP. Pick a daily dosage that's well below the FDA max safe limit for ADHD patients and stick to it. Let the honeymoon period pass and your tolerance plateau. If you want stronger effects, take a tolerance break. Maintain a healthy circadian cycle, don't use stimulants to pull all-nighters. That's quite high if you have no stimulant tolerance and it's for productivity rather than partying. The ADHD therapeutic range is 5-40 mg per day. Maybe try 10 mg in the morning or 5 mg twice per day; if that's too weak, then 10 mg twice per day. If in doubt, choose the lower dose because tolerance is a bitch and you want to delay developing it. More is not always better.
Personally, I take 40 mg MPH per day, but I have moderate ADHD.

Fresh out of high school here with good grades so I'm doing a master's off the cuff, however are grades important in uni? for some reason I thought exams are only a high school thing and you just stroll through a uni program, and the hard part was to get accepted. If you have ADHD, stimulants can help you become more "normal" and put you on a more equal playing field with your peers. It allows ADHDers to do stuff like a normal person would do. It's basically an equalizer for people with ADHD.

If you don't have ADHD, stimulants like Adderall will over-stimulate you which will actually decrease your performance as per the Yerkes-Dodson Law. So in academics your performance will suffer and it'll be harder to focus and your working memory will be decreased like:

So basically Adderall is a meme and I'm not sure who keeps pushing it onto neurotypicals.
