>>13378765I suppose being less ambitious and not even trying can 'save you from danger' against more dangerous people. But the dangers are exaggerated for one. This is the 21ST CENTURY. If you live in a 1st world country, you really have nothing to worry about expect a few insults and maybe a bar fight if you're being too aggressive and stupid. You can fall down many times in this era and still keep going. Consider yourself lucky for that. Second, regardless of the first being true or not, fortune favors the bold. Simply having a confidence, intense discipline and taking action will put you ahead in life compared to so many people alone. I found that when I stopped constantly brooding over what hiring managers might say about my resume or if I was qualified or not, I began to get more interviews simply because I had to balls to give the opportunities a shot. Some of the managers snickered and I didn't get a call back, but I just kept refining my resume, changing my pitch and learning the skills they seem to be looking for. You want to develop an opportunistic mindset alongside this confidence. It simply means you almost never stop and think: "Shit, I'm out of options. Woe is me." You look all around you, in person and the internet to climb out of whatever hole you're in. You literally are in the most opportunity filled time in human history, despite how bleak in can appear.
I'm not saying all this shit to make you cringe, I'm saying all this shit because alternative is scary: Living life aimlessly and allowing it and others to knock you around as they please. Then, if you're lucky, retiring meagerly as a grumpy, bitter old man / woman married to not so fitting spouse, that chased cheap thrills and having lived an unfilled life. Your talents and inclinations, forever being lost. A fate truly worse than death, if you ask me. Regardless of my limitations, I will fight.
