What is the final solution to all of our present and forth-coming problems as regards our food sources?
Meat and other foodstuff derived from beasts, birds, and fish seem to be incredibly problematic to our environment and frankly seem outdated as a food source.
Cultured meats seem promising but imho they are doubtful as a permanent substitution for meat and I don't think they ever will be 100% or even 70% as "good" as real meat is; still, in the future I foresee that they will make up a great portion of our diets.
Basedbased, "impossible" foods seem interesting as well and have proved extremely popular with Americans. The expansion of this and vegan milks are happy development in our cultural diet. Vegan foods in general are becoming more and more popular (unfortunately though this is marred in privilege as wealthier, mostly white, people are the main benefactors from this while the cultures of poorer people, especially POC, like Blacks and Hispanics, still hold veganism as completely alien to themselves.)
Entomophagy is another interesting prospect as a future primary diet. Outside of the west it is not something which is usually taboo but it still isn't a "main" source of food for most people. An entire industry devoted to Entomophagic foodstuff is what we should aim for as a society.
As with most of these things, Asia is far ahead of us in most of these things (but I admit, not all the way there). In most Asian cultures, there is no stigma around "eating bugs" and onions, tofu, and other "vegan" solutions are extremely popular. Honestly I would bet money that the first place to eat cultured meats widely would be forward-thinking Asian nations like China or Japan lol.
Also discuss Green and sustainable foods advocacy and how to encourage people to get rid of old prejudices.
