The colonial era spanish had no such term. Pureblooded spaniards were known as criollos, and many of them were low class. Race didn't magically give you certain priviliges, you could still be an indentured servant, just not a "slave".
AND ONLY SPANIARDS were higher class, other europeans weren't considered criollos, and had no such protections.
Also, the spanish that interbred with the native american aristocracy, kept the aristocratic titles and social position, their chilren were still seen as nobility, even if they weren't pureblooded.
