The materialist paradigm often comes packaged with science. I don't know why, but it is annoying. Scientific study should not boast metaphysical claims IMO. That should be relegated to philosophy.
Scientific measures can and should be used to try to get at some sort of core truth, but I would not just outright claim BS things in the field of metaphysics.
The fact is that the mind represents all of our experience of this world. There is not one thing that we have ever or could ever experience that is outside of awareness. And yet this entire thing, the thing that is MOST core and crucial to our entire life, is relegated to a footnote of "science is working on it, pretend it doesn't exist".
Realistically, a person truly interested in reality should explore both inwardly and outwardly. That is quite rare but there are some quantum physicists like this, as well as Sam Harris presently.
