/sci/ I'm 30. MS. Biochem, JD. Dissatisfied with practicing law.
Thought I would practice patent law but that hasn't materialized.... I hate being a general practitioner, my chances of breaking into patent law are slimming by the day, (competitive didn't get the first firm job so difficult/impossible to get hired now) and miss the sciences.
I can't shake the desire to pursue a career in engineering, bioprocess engineering, genetic engineering, etc. Just some practical application of my MS.
Anyway I feel lost and don't know what to do. All I know is I hate practicing law and wake up wishing I was a molecular biologist again, or something kind of biological engineer.
Is it too late? Am I retarded? Where do I go from here to escape the hellscape that is the practice of law?
You know what just typing this makes me feel like a retard.
