Why are most heavy metals radioactive?

I was just wondering if there were any metals heavier than tungsten and it turns out that there are but they're all radioactive. Why is it that 8/10 of the heaviest metals are dangerous to humans?

Rhenium, Osmium, Iridium, Platinum, Gold, Mercury, Thallium, Lead
Tungsten isn't even the densest, that's Osmium

Lead isn't as dense as tungsten (11.34 grams per cubic centimeter vs. 19.25 grams per cubic centimeter). You're right on the rest of them, though.

Everything is radioactive, it's just that heavier metals are so dense that radioactive molecules don't really have a place to stick, so they bounce off.

One kilogram of tungsten weighs the same as one kilogram of hydrogen, anon. You are asking about density or something, I assume. The reason elements with greater atomic weights tend to be more radioactive is because the larger number of neutron/proton ratios usually allows more unstable nuclei which are not so unstable that they decay immediately. Nuclei are usually stable around the 1/1 ratio and there are a lot more integer ratios around 1/1 for Z=80 than there are for Z=3.
