This isn't meant to be a 2edgy4u post, and I'm hoping this is the correct board for all this, but I really am at the point where I believe I have some sort of personality disorder. After doing some pretty bare bones research a few years back, I began to wonder if I had sociopathy. I talked to a therapist about this, and she claimed that people who have personality disorders typically don't know that anything is wrong, but at 24 years of age I really am just finding it impossible to believe there isn't something majorly wrong with me. For starters I

I was suspended from school several times, on top of being arrested for truancy and drug possession at school multiple times. I was also a serial vandal and shoplifter, and had abused substances from an early age. I was also abusive to animals as a child.

On top of abusing animals, I also have abused people as an adult. While I have not had any more runs in with the law, I have had trouble obeying the rules both in the military and in civilian jobs. I have been fired from several jobs for getting into altercations with customers, and have continued to abuse substances sporadically.
Again, if this is better served on a being on board such as /adv/ tell me, but I was hoping to garner a more science based perspective about all of this. Are there any psychology majors here that could help me out? Do I have a personality disorder or am I just a run of the mill piece of shit?
