Even if we suppose that free will exists, what mechanisms would allow it to operate? Neurons firing in the brain in patterns predictable by physics, past experiences, genetics, and randomness aren't free will. Even a soul, if such a thing existed, wouldn't allow free will because you didn't choose that either.
