>>13337323Nah, I had full scholarships for undergrad (so zero debt) and a really good grant for gradschool (earning more than most people make in industry, good job lined up after), still had some of my best bros who followed me to gradschool. Also owned a car, rented an expensive loft flat (special deal for grads in my programme) etc. and through TAing I was still getting quality 18-21 y/o student pussy (and would even meet my future wife in gradschool). Since then I hit all the other milestones, married, great high paying career I actually enjoy, still very happy to this day.
Still my peak life satisfaction was 22-23. This is the ultimate age where society and biology gives everything to you and doesn't expect anything in return. You are peak social confidence, peak neural plasticity, you still have a lot of fun new experience, the constant promise of new adventures/life expectations etc. After that everything becomes harder. You are slower at learning new fields. Your gains at the gym take more time. Your work hours are longer. You have way more income, but also way higher bills, have to save for retirement, actually do your taxes properly, less time for hobbies etc. Your research might be interesting, but most of it is old news to you by now as you realize everyone else in the field is an idiot. You might have easy access to sex with a 8-10/10 at any time, but it doesn't beat the thrill of a new relationship (which btw exponentially decays with every new partner; trust me on this marry the first virgin you meet to hold on that feeling as long as possible) and you don't have any new kinky sex postions to try out or whatever so you've already done everything good that there is available in adult life without Bezos level wealth. Then all that remains is your research/job, your family and your network. All things that have more expectations from you than it gives you return.
I feel sorry for you guys that went through a rut during the best time of your life.
