When two black holes collide, is there a spike in the Hawking radiation rate or intensity, that corresponds to the amount of exchange between them?

hawking radiation is just a QM explanation of how black holes don't break the laws of thermodynamics.

apparently in free space they radiate off heat in the manner of 'pinching' the low amplitude waves of the vacuum at the event horizon. I don't personally like referring to it as virtual particles because it makes it sound spooky and nonsensical. Some photons are able to escape, which translates to loss of mass via heat.

Of course it will take a very long time for this to even occur cosmically speaking as the temperature of blackholes are many orders of magnitude colder than the temperature of space.

In the scenario you describe there would be no mass lost via hawking radiation. It would only occur if a blackhole was not near anything to absorb and was hotter than the universe.

I would imagine that if they were near enough for each event horizon to interact with one another they would eventually just collide and then proceed to radiate mass via heat if background space is finally cooler than the blackhole, as one larger blackhole from the collision that is.

i'd say that it wouldn't hawking radiate in this scenario because yeah, other forces are at play. The radiation only occurs when a blackhole is in totally empty space. It wouldn't radiate while absorbing matter/energy of any kind. It would only occur afterward if space is cold enough.

Personally I don't see an issue with black holes being literal cosmic niggers and stealing destroying shit in the universe. Doesn't make the 1st law invalid, could just rewrite it to say: "Energy is constant and cannot be destroyed or created within a closed system, except when Black Holes are involved, fuck those space niggers, they are gonna kill us all", or maybe the universe isn't a closed system as we think it is, or maybe Black Holes are DEATH's way of saying "Nice try at being self-sufficient Universe-chan, but no, Imma send some boys over to remind you who's in charge."
