I don't remember whether they stated SQ as hereditary/genetic or as somethign you can change because I skimmed through the text. I don't even know if they understand what they wrote, they tried to convince the reader that high SQ is better than high IQ and that SQ is a somehow correlated with spirituality, being connected with god, being a god christian etc.
