From Wikipedia:

"Preliminary data shows that the disease is not genetic, and could be contracted from water, food or air.[4] It is not known if the disease is contagious.[15] Symptoms of the suspected disease are similar to those of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) and other prion diseases, but no misfolded prion proteins have been found in autopsies.[13] Cashman, who is a world-class expert on prion disease stated that as of 25 April 2021, there is no evidence of a prion disease.[13] Other possibilities include an environmental toxin similar to domoic acid, which caused the Canadian amnesic shellfish poisoning cases in 1987, or beta-Methylamino-L-alanine.[13]

Symptoms listed [...] include rapidly progressing dementia,[5] unexplained and significant weight loss, myoclonus,[21] aphasia,[13] changes in behaviour, sleep disturbances, unexplained pain, visual hallucinations, co-ordination problems and severe muscle and brain atrophy,[4][13] progressing over a period of 18 to 36 months.[4][10] The majority experience multi-day insomnia even with "sleep medication".[13] Memory loss and aphasia are seen.[13] In some cases, Capgras delusion and echolalia have been reported.[13] Myoclonus persists "even in the late stages of the disease" and even "when patients are unconscious".[13] Akinetic mutism were observed in late-stage patients, where they no longer have the ability to speak or move.[13]"

Seems terrifying to me, is there a chance this could spread? Some anons on /lit/ thought it might be deer wasting disease jumping to humans.
