instead of creating anything of value with the stolen money, they use schools and tv and other propaganda to trick children into cheering for the big worthless toy so the enormous theft and waste of of other people's wealth doesn't looks as bad as it really is.
if anything does get discovered, the discoverer will inevitably try to hoard the information to themselves and try to convert it into personal wealth and fame rather than try to return some value to the victims large scale armed robbery in the name of science
