>>13313928It's multiple times safer than any roadway, zero risk of hitting oncoming traffic, zero cars merging into the lane at high speed, zero risk to pedestrians which aren't allowed in, if you somehow hit into the walls you're just going to bounce off of it, and they're literally using the safest production cars in the world with the lowest probability of accident per mile. The only real risk is fire, but they banned non-electric vehicles and in the event of a fire, all of the other vehicles can either drive forward or back out to the next stop with a very short period of time. It then becomes an open walkway for the people that were in the stuck car and for emergency workers if need be, and contrary to the talking points of retards, the car doors can open while inside the tunnel. The tunnel walls are designed so that a car fire cannot collapse them.
You should also know that there are two systems, one of them like the LVCC loop is already owned by the state and it is closed to private vehicles. This system currently uses human drivers but they're in the process of automating it. The other system will allow private Teslas but only if they're using autopilot.
>just a tiny one lane tunnelThat one lane tunnel moves as many people per hour as light rail despite the terribly small distance between stops that limits speed and despite that you're in a nice Tesla rather than standing and bumping elbows with degenerates. As it expands, it could move as many people as a subway. A subway is a still a bad comparison, not just because they're ten times the cost and can only exist in places where they're economical to build them, but because they stop at every stop. This is personal rapid transit, the car can go directly to the destination.
