I want to make a machine that can turn stick like these into a cylinder.
I dont know how to go about it though.
But id figure maybe you guys would know.

Spin it really fast against sandpaper

Depends on the tolerances and volume of material.
Lathing is precise but would be more expensive that other methods. Grinding is happy medium producing desired forms fast but not particularly precisely while using a die to simply cut the corners off would be very fast but least precise leading to more angular cylinder with more defects.
