I was watching a video africans trying to make an airplane and failing and everybody in the comments was making fun of them.
But then i though, well damn you guys would fail too.
Which got me wondering, what do you need to learn to make an airplane?

The biggest hurdle in the early 1900s was lightweight building materials, which wouldn't be a problem today. The physics of it is rather simple

Yes, but we're not the ones trying to make a plane now are we? It's best to leave that stuff to the aerospace engineers rather than trying to make a hackjob of your own, they were too stupid to know they're bound for failure.
