How do you guys balance out making your notes and learning them actively? Do you start reviewing them after you have completed all your notes or do you review them concurrently?

Moreover when do you start making your summary notes during the semester? I ve heard people say dont start until week 3 or 4 so you have a general understanding of the material. What do you guys think?

When it comes to summary notes you should be actively revising them. By that I mean you make your first set shortly after your first lecture. You study new content, go back to them, challenge yourself on it, and revise your summary notes again. You keep doing this.

Why would I take notes?
work the examples, do the problems.
what the fuck do notes do?
you have the book and it has a table of contents just scan back if you ever need reference.

I stopped writing/typing study notes. My study consists mostly of reading to understand content (typically on topics I'm not confident in OR topics I learned about during the day), practice questions and trying to actively recall information, such as explaining a concept to a peer or supervisor.
