Actuaries

I'm a CS student who always preferred math to programming. I like probability and statistics, calculus, and linear algebra. I like proofs but also when you get the chance to apply maths to real life.

Are there any actuaries here who can tell me how the job is? Do you know any? What is the life of an actuary like?

I've seen memes about how the money is worth it. I've read it's one of the best jobs in North America. Regular 9-5 job.

Of course the exams are a deterrant but they can be completed over 5 years or more depending on how intensely you're prepared to work and study.

It seems like a logical choice for a profession for someone who likes applied math and doesn't mind an office job.
