thanks for the name drop, i didnt know of him. it's a god damn shame how hard it is to discover the people who actually possess wisdom. i only discovered thomas szasz from a coworker while working as a dishwasher. the coworker used to work with youth and family services but stopped due to disagreements on how to actually help youth and families. go figure.

The basic idea is you can't use a system or something within it to verify itself or something along those lines. It hit home for me with the question of whether or not you can prove our models of reality align with the actual reality. Since we don't know the whole picture, our models will never be able to account for it, and that flaw throws into question the reliability of our models as building upon a flawed model further compounds the error. We verify our theories or assertions by their consequences in reality, not by reality itself.
