if i have one 1 g chunk of iron oxide and 1 g of iron oxide nanoparticles, both dispersed in matrix, will they have the same net magnetic moment in the presence of a magnetic field?

assume I don't care about paramagnetism

my thinking is yes, because they iron oxide has a magnetic susceptibility, chi, that can be described in terms of mass, mol, and volume. I couldn't however find this explicitly written in any textbook

Not necessarily. They will saturate at the same net magnetisation, but this saturation will occur at different applied magnetic fields, probably less for the nanoparticles as there is no domain structure to eliminate and it's just a matter of aligning freely dispersed particles without any effects of crystal anisotropy
