>>13308034>How is "where are all the aliens? Space is huge, and getting to space isn't actually that hard, and we should see some of them" fake? That's not the Fermi Paradox, retard. The "Fermi paradox" is the seeming contradiction between the paucity of observational evidence of ETs and certain possible values for the Drake Equation.
Problem is, we know zero of the values of the Drake Equation, so it's actually really fucking stupid and weird that anyone made up a "paradox" that could result from literally making up certain values for it. Since the values for the equation aren't known, there's no "Fermi Paradox" either. In fact, knowing the values for the Drake Equation would inherently disprove the "Fermi Paradox", since gathering the information necessary to know the values in the first place would require encountering fucking aliens.
>and we should see some of themIt's entirely possible that we have. We have gotten narrowband, IE artificial, radio signals from outer space, including the interstellar void, and we have seen lots of abnormal flying objects loitering around our airspace.
If the aliens are more distant, staying mostly in other solar systems, then there's very little chance we'd ever notice eachother unless they send us a narrowband signal or we send them one. We've received a few narrowband radio signals and sent some ourselves, but there's never been a reply. Still no """fermi paradox"""". It's fake, not real.
