American culture is extremely conservative and racially biased, so the idea that we're somehow bending over to make America more diverse and inclusive is ridiculous. I would be very happy if Americans were actually taking step to fight for equality and racial justice, but the reality is that America is still clinging on to its racist, white past, and unfortunately we still have a long way to go, as you can see by the fact that many conservative Americas, like a lot of users on this site, think the idea that black people have endured centuries of systemic oppression and discrimination is ridiculous. There are a lot of ignorant and bigoted people in America who want to blame their personal problems and failures in life on other races, on liberals, on the gay community, etc., because they can't accept the fact that they're uneducated and lazy and that BIPOC individuals have more skills and competence than most rednecks and white conservatives.
