What's your take on the major papers of last month? Anything missing here?

Why are there so few people integrating new scientific knowledge into Wikipedia? Many articles are outdated at best.

What do you think of current scientometrics?

Because it's time-consuming and thankless.
Also, recently-published articles perhaps shouldn't be referenced in Wikipedia. A whole bunch of them will in time turn out to be spurious findings that only get published in big name journals because they seem exciting.

I could have told you this. I'm literally a faggot undergrad. Scientists with agendas are citing bullshit that reflects their worldview and getting away with it because of the peer-review gatekeeping meme. Anyone worth their salt would discard findings that aren't reproducible as "not science" ffs

I'm not begging for views. I used to post a pastebin link with the sources before I started making those videos. Got to include the sources somehow anyway and the video is related so I don't see a problem there.

However I'm not sure if I keep making those videos as it takes quite some time for just a few views of the full video that are even less than the number of subscribers to the channel for some reason. (There's also lots of Kdenlive bugs some of which are even causing computer freezes all of which take extra time.)
It's taking far more time since I started producing these as well as adding items to the list, uploading media to Wikimedia Commons and integrating the new knowledge into Wikipedia articles. It's also a lot of fun and important imo...still I got a lot of other things to do that are also somewhat fun and important so I'm really unsure if/how I'll keep doing all of that.

Well, it wouldn't have worked well on 4chan. In fact, I don't know of anything anons managed to get done together the last few years...at least nothing serious and important. Anonymous is pretty much dead, and drowned by shitposts...and never was very constructive anyway.

You don't have to go to Reddit for that but rely upon work done by redditors as of right now. I guess they still need to set up an IPFS version of the site rather than having bare torrents btw.

Sure, you can read those but that takes a lot of time, they aren't short overview summaries and people can do that in addition to reading the science summary.

Furthermore the selection here is based on things like (not only) altmetrics and criteria like being mostly about new knowledge/new conclusions, new approaches and functional products etc (see the talk page of 2020 in science for some formalized criteria) rather than new instruments, new unknowns, new data, small iterative steps, confirmations of previously known things, etc (to allow you to stay up to date with the most major developments quickly and in an accessible manner). Not just whatever happens to make it to whatever magazine/journal you happen to frequent. Lastly, it's Wiki-based so under some form of public scrutiny and open to participation.

The sources are linked if people are interested in further information.

Constructive criticism is always appreciated.

Hate to have to mention it because I know some people get assmad about it still, but /mlp/ has probably been at the top of that list, with them having made a couple of crowdfunded manufacturing runs for plushes, their own convention, having decentralized image hosting for the fandom & having created a pastebin alternative, and having virtually hijacked 15.ai. So if it's a contest then to my knowledge the horsefuckers are winning by a country mile.
