Alternative hypothesis is that gain-of-function experiments to generate new viral strains, such as those carried out in Wuhan, may have generated a new viral strain.
Sequencing suggests that the virus is not comprised of known artificial vectors which was originally argued to 'prove' the vector is not man made in a questionable Science paper. Yet same sequencing shows multiple, possibly simultaneous, advantageous mutations compared to closest known natural virus. Easily explained by gain-of-function experiments, otherwise requiring multiple species jump as said above.
What complicated matters is that the poorly regulated live animal farms may have created the perfect breeding ground for just such a virus to develop.
So I am convinced it's man-made either way. We should fucking hold Beijing to account and stop pussying around.
