>>13298482>>13298683>>13298658It really, really annoys me, by the way, how there are so many people that don't seem to know what WIkipedia actually is. The information is right fucking there.
Literally ANYONE CAN EDIT Wikipedia, and if you either stay on long enough editing pages productively or are clever enough with your edits or make them in obscure enough articles or in a way that won't raise flags and get your edit almost immediately undone from bots and people browsing the recent edits (which get auto-tagged), you can write whatever the fuck you want.
And if enough people fuck with a page enough, this could last for a while until it gets locked.
Haven't ever seen weird shit on Wikipedia before? Random words added in, things that don't make sense, etc? Also, on a lesser scale, have you also never seen biased or incorrect information on Wikipedia?
Nothing is safe on that fucking website. Often edit wars for tone and other stuff that's hard to really say break a specific rule or whatever result in big groups with a lot of energy gaining "control" over some page that happens to be popular with that group.
Do not ever rely on Wikipedia. Check the citations and footnotes they give. Wikipedia is only a starting point to find information and citations grouped together. If the citations don't check out or don't match what was said, don't fucking trust it.
