How would one go about synthesizing poison from foxgloves? I have grown a fair few and am interested in the best way of extracting the most potent quantity of digoxin for an ingestable volume. pic related. for personal use. i swear.

Find a suitable solvent, perform an extraction, then clean up the solution. Start by looking up the solubility of your target chemical. Ideally you want to pull all of your target chemicals and very few undesired chemicals. Once you select a solvent you choose an extraction procedure. In labs this usually amounts to grabbing a soxhlet extractor off the shelf and setting it up, but I suspect you're working out of a kitchen, so you might just end up soaking and filtering it. well, it does have the bulky steroid group, you should look up on solubility, and then teach yourself how to make a column chromatography, it may be apolar enough to just separate it with hexane then doing the chromatography, or it may be just weird enough for it to be pushed out of a solution
it may work out, but the deoxyglucoses there may be a pain in the ass
perhaps hydrolizing it, then figuring out how to attach the sugar once again? seems like a terrible idea, though.
