If they were truly advanced as a society as well as technologically they would most likely be Independent Constitutionalists.
They would live under a common philosophy/set of rules and do what they like otherwise within what they know to be right, without causing harm or interference with others unless they were forced to. Even then they would likely try to resolve the conflict by other means before resorting to final destructive measures.
