What is the meta strategy for an individual who wishes to do their part in making the world carbon neutral? There is so much information out there about "going green" and so many corporations using greening as a marketing strategy while providing no real solutions.

Like a tesla that is worse for the environment due to production costs than driving an old car? Like buying expensive products that must be shipped?
>donate to carbon offset charities
Inherently leaky charities IE sustainable fish farming cutting down forests for land
>eat bugs, take short showers, don't travel
like this is in any way feasible for a large population or makes a real difference

Im not trying to be smug. Seriously what is the best way to devote your time, money, and efforts? The best way I can think of is political activism, but even this is somewhat hopeless in light of lobbyists.
