>first subject I studied
>spent hours on calc 2
>literally try to solve every exercise on it
>the final 2 months basically burn myself out with legit 60 hours a week of studying (only calc 2, nothing but calc 2)
>get rewarded with the highest marks on my homework (never used Wolfram Alpha)
>literally fail the exam the third and final time and had to drop out before I got banned from any similar subject (possible in Germany)

>try other subject
>also has calc 2 in it
>has old exams, unlike my prior one, so idgaf and just memorize the old exams 2 weeks prior with like 20 hours a week
>pass with flying colors
>talk to a friend about it from my prior subject
>mfw they all did it like that, they got summaries from older students and just memorized the exercise types
>mfw he can't even do simple integrals or know what or how limes work

I was fed the lie that you absolutely have to understand shit in order to pass exams in STEM. Fuck no, I can solve most of calc 2 in my head despite failing the exam, but if I had not try to UNDERSTAND this shit and ONLY asked older students and memorized the exercise type of my professor, I would have passed first try ffs.

Academia is a fucking joke. Now I understand why so many say I talk bullshit when I say that the minimum IQ of STEM graduates is 115. That also makes me questioning the quality of engineers this shit produces.
