We know that there are negative psychological impacts but we don't know how to quantify them so they're mostly ignored. If you're a politician, you don't want your opponent to run ads claiming that you killed hundreds of thousands of people but if they run ads claiming you made a bunch of people upset, lots of viewers will think "who cares, bunch of crybabies". That neither the number of people impacted nor the degree of their suffering is knowable means they cannot be easily used for political purposes, which means they might as well not exist.

Greatly overstated. Most measures of "mental health" are bullshit but suicides actually declined. The lockdowns resulted in free money, people quitting shit jobs, and really BTFO the evidence that the wagie extrovert status quo was doing anybody any good.

At this point I don't believe any stats on "Reported depression" or "anxiety" or any such shit because it seems to me to be a socially constructed phenomenon in a world where fragility has become virtue. being in a room with your teacher and having a direct conversation is essential for understanding
only learning alone or video lectures are simply not the same

I became ragingly gay.
