But I wouldn't be surprised if professors are starting to get wise to whats going on. I've seen a number of professors get taken down because of this shit. You have almost no means to defend yourself. They don't need to prove anything in a court of law, they just need to stain your image to the point where no one wants to associate with you at all.
And we need to analyze the incentive structure here. If you are a young female student having a bad semester, failing grades etc, this kind of stunt is a get out of jail free card. I have seen it happen multiple times. I don't know the real truth of the situation, but it's hard to not be skeptical given the context.
